VCM Adopt-a-Highway Cleanup Tuesday, August 9, 1-2:30 pm Meet at 613 Viejo Road (at bottom of bike path)
Did you know that Velo Club Monterey is an Adopt-a-Highway sponsor? We have cleanup responsibility for the bike path that runs along the south side of Highway 1 going up/down Carmel Hill. Tuesday afternoon August 9, after the No Real Job Ride we could use a little help cleaning up the path and the entrance/exits on both ends of the path. Mostly it'll be pine needles, sticks, etc, and a little bit of garbage. We've got gloves, vests, helmets, protective eyewear and "garbage grabbers" so you don't need to even bend over much! If you've got a great broom, a portable leaf blower, or some trusty pruning shears, you could bring those along, as they may be useful. The plan is to meet after the usual coffee break that follows the regular Tuesday morning No Real Job Ride. We'll plan to be at the bottom of the path on 613 Viejo Rd. around 1pm.
